When we started work with Scroxton and Partners they had recently launched a new website and suffered from the annoyingly common issue of a drop in performance despite a seemingly better looking website.
They had also recently undergone a rebrand from Matchbox Architects and so there were legacy issues which needed addressing following that change.
We also wanted to find the balance with the client in targeting terms which were achievable in the shorter term versus more competitive phrases which could be more lucrative but would take longer to rank for.
Content strategy would be a major point to address as well, with the site featuring many pages targeting the same terms, creating cannibalisation which needed to be addressed.
Our process started with in-depth keyword research and exploration of what the client’s goals were.
We aimed to find a balance of targeting terms that were achievable in a 3 month period, with a view to improving positioning and creating a foundation to target national level terms over a longer timeline.
Once that was identified, we carried out a full technical audit of the site to highlight and fix key issues that would be holding back progress.
We updated key on-page areas to target the relevant terms people were searching for and worked with Scroxton and Partners to update content on key pages too.
Alongside this, we started researching and gaining links for the site from high quality architecture websites that would increase Google’s trust in the site and help it to rank better.
Finally, we analysed the old brand’s website and discovered that the migration process had not been carried out in the ideal way for SEO purposes, so helped update that so it was carrying over the full value that had been established prior to the change.
We saw some incredible improvements for Scroxton and Partners in a short period, with the site jumping to page 1 for some of the most competitive and well searched-for localised phrases. For example:
